Good Idea : Serving Homeless Youth

Homeless children under the age of 17 in San Francisco are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population. A Good Idea is currently in the process of bringing a full-scale accredited high-school/village for homeless teens to San Francisco. Following a proven model, our goal for each and every student will be to attend college upon graduation. Our curriculum will feature the basic high school requirements but will also be infused with essential life skills, a unique music and arts program, and lessons designed to teach the students to become compassionate, well-rounded young adults.

Per capita, San Francisco currently has one of the highest number of Homeless members of their community than any other city in the United States. A Good Idea's events and programs focus on this issue by providing both basic necessities and improving the overall quality of life of people who are homeless in San Francisco. We host monthly events that bring volunteers directly to the streets and shelters to provide food, clothes, hygiene products and more to the homeless members of the community. We put great emphasis on connecting with the people we serve and letting them know that they are not alone.
